SUMMIT COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — William Woods of Akron, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Summit County Sunday morning.

Woods, 27, was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Akron.

According to reports, Wood was traveling as a passenger in a Mercury Grand Marquis in the 1200 block of Grant Street near Cole Ave in Akron, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle then made contact with a utility pole and flipped over.

26-year-old Brandy Wood, the female operator of the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

According to social media, the couple was engaged to be married.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
