LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Jerry Dean Viola, of Independence, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash in Livingston Parish on Sunday evening.
Viola, 58, was killed in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash near Holden on Sunday evening.
According to reports, Viola was operating a motorcycle on LA-442 near LA-1036 in Holden, when the bike came into contact with a Toyota Highlander, operated by 35-year-old Melissa Zapata, who was performing a left hand turn.
Viola, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to an ara hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
