CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. (THECOUNT) — Adam Salim Alsahli, of Corpus Christi, Texas, has been identified as the deceased suspect in Thursday morning’s shooting at N.A.S. Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi.
Alsahli, 20, who was born in Syria, rammed the entrance while operating a vehicle at the naval station and opened fired on security forces members, striking one in the chest.

The gunfire struck a female guard in her bulletproof vest inflicting non-life-threatening injuries.
Alsahli’s Twitter account shows multiple Islamic religious posts. The translation of his Twitter profile statement, which is in Arabic, reads, “I love the Mujahideen, I am not one of them, and my sword is on the necks of those who stab them.”
The active shooting was reported at Corpus Christi N.A.S. Naval Air Station Thursday morning.
Officials at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi confirmed shots were fired around 6:45 a.m. Thursday at the North Gate entrance.
The base was placed on lockdown.
NAS-CC officials issued the following statement:
“NAS-Corpus Christi is now in a lockdown status. There is an active shooter in the vicinity of the North Gate. If you are in or near the North Gate get out and away to safety. Execute lockdown procedures — remain indoors and away from windows.”
