WAKE COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Jerdewarrene Farrar Jr., of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck on Interstate 540 Saturday night in Wake County.
Farrar, 29, was killed after being struck by at least two vehicles while standing on I-540 Saturday night near Raleigh.
According to reports, Farrar had exited his vehicle following a minor traffic collision on I-540, when he was struck by a passing vehicle. He was then thrown back into lanes and struck by another vehicle. Reports say, Farrar may have been struck by a third vehicle.
The initial vehicle that struck Farrar then fled the scene.
Troopers are now looking for the driver of a Mazda Rav4 displaying possibly front-end damage.
There will be no charges pressed against other involved drivers who remained on-scene.
According to social media, Farrar worked at UNC Health.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
