AK Man Arleigh Bacarella ID’d As Victim In Sunday Night Seward Highway Fatal BMW Crash

ANCHORAGE, AK. (THECOUNT) — Arleigh Bacarella of Nikiski, Alaska, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday BMW crash on Highway 1 near Anchorage.

Bacarella, 34, was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Seward Highway Sunday night.

According to Alaska State Troopers, Bacarella was operating a BMW sedan on Seward Highway, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The BMW then made contact with a tandem axle trailer carrying a six-wheeler being towed by a Suburban on Highway 1. That collision caused the BMW to skid into the path of a Ford Class C Motorhome towing a 21-foot Alumaweld boat.

The BMW and Ford motorhome collided, dislodging boat from the trailer. The boat then became lodged inside the back of the motorhome.

Bacarella was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The drivers of the Suburban and Ford motorhome received minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
