GREENE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — 104.1 KSGF “The Gun Show” radio host, Matt Canovi, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck on US-65 in Greene County Saturday.

Matthew Canovi, 63, of Brighton, Missouri, was killed after he was struck by a tow truck while on US-65 Saturday in Springfield.

According to reports, Canovi was standing on the shoulder of US-65, as a tow truck loaded his disabled vehicle, when the vehicle went in reverse, fatally striking him near Springfield.

Tow truck operator, Alan Goodkin, 29, drove the tow truck in reverse when Canovi was fatally struck, according to officials.

Canovi was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Goodkin was not injured during the incident.

Canovi was a former Marine and Law Enforcement Officer.
