CRENSHAW, TN. (THECOUNT) — Marcus Covon Stokes, has been identified as the victim following a fatal Crenshaw high-speed chase in Crenshaw, Mississippi.
Stokes, 40, was killed at the conclusion of a police chase in Crenshaw, Mississippi on Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, Stokes was operating a GMC Denali while leading police in a high-speed chase on State Highway 310, when his vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway in the area of Old Crenshaw Road. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Stokes was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
It is unclear why police were pursuing stokes.
According to social media, Stokes was originally from Chicago, Illinois.
