ORLANDO, FL. (THECOUNT) — Dexter Rentz Jr., a star football player out of Ocoee High School in Orlando, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday night shooting.

Rentz, a senior who had recently signed with the Louisville football program, was killed late Saturday night in a shooting in his home state of Orlando.

Coaches from Ocoee High School in the Orlando area confirmed the sad news on social media posts early Sunday morning saying Rentz had been fatally shot.

Rentz would have played wide receiver for Louisville Cardinals.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
