ALBANY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Jakoby Church, of Albany, Georgia, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday morning shooting in Dougherty County.

Church, 38, was killed, and another man was injured, in a shooting in Albany early Saturday morning.

According to officials, police responded to the 2000 block of West Broad Avenue in Albany on reports of shots fired. When police arrived, they found two man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police later determined an unidentified suspect entered the Albany residence and opened fire.

Church was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

The condition of the other victim is unknown.

The shooting remains under investigation.
