BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MA. (THECOUNT) — Austin Shaw, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday afternoon crash in Berkshire County.
Shaw, 25, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Richmond Saturday afternoon.
According to authorities, Shaw was operating a vehicle on MA-41 near Richmond, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Shaw was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
An infant also riding in the vehicle was transported to an area hospital and later released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
