JACKSONVILLE, FL. (THECOUNT) — Matthew Eugene Smith, of Jacksonville, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday night single-vehicle crash.
Smith, 27, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Jacksonville on Friday night.
According to FHP, Smith was operating a Honda Pilot on I-295 near Pickettville Road in Jacksonville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway Friday around 8:30 p.m. The vehicle then made contact with a concrete traffic barrier and rolled over.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
