HARRISBURG, PA. (THECOUNT) — Doug Jorich, of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, has died unexpectedly. He was 54.
Jorich, co-owner of Schmidt’s Sausage Shop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, died after being stricken with an unknown illness, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page on Saturday morning.
An exact cause of death was not immediately known.

“I’m sad to say my brother Doug Jorich passed away earlier this morning,” the post said.
“Besides working side by side with him. I lost my best friend. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, and support. To the customers constantly asking how he was doing? I will say, he’s in Heaven with mom and dad. We love each and everyone of you!”
The extery, located at, 1035 Eisenhower Blvd in Harrisburg, has been owned by three-generations of family members.
Henry Schmidt opened the restaurant in 1961.
Doug and Don Jorich are the grandsons of Henry Schmidt.
