WICHITA, KS. (THECOUNT) — Aubrey Resendez has been identified as the teen found shot near a Wichita, Kansas Kwik Shop overnight.

Resendez, 18, was shot during a disturbance early Monday near West Pawnee Street in Wichita.

According to officials, officers responded to a call of shots fired around 12:40 a.m. Monday at a Kwik Shop. When officials arrived, they discovered Resendez inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot injuries.

Resendez was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

An 18-year-old driver and a 27-year-old male passenger were not hurt in the shooting.

The investigation determined that there was an unknown disturbance in the 4200 block of West Pawnee Street between occupants in the Dodge Avenger and a silver truck.

According to social media, Resendez was an assistant manager at QuikTrip.
