MONTGOMERY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Roy Lee Mason, of Pine Hill, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash near the Capitol city.
Mason, 61, died following a single-vehicle crash near Montgomery on Monday afternoon.
According to officials, Mason was operating a Toyota Corolla on U.S. 231 near Montgomery, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 1 p.m. Monday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Mason, who was was not wearing a seatbelt, and was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
