WETUMPKA, AL. (THECOUNT) — Kevin Mara of McMinnville, Oregon, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash in Elmore County, Alabama Sunday.
Mara, 31, was riding as a passenger in a vehicle when he was killed in a suspected DUI crash early Sunday morning. A Wetumpka driver of the vehicle he was traveling, has been charged with impaired driving.
According to reports, 22-year-old Alexis Danielle Wright, of Wetumpka, was operating a Chevrolet Sonic on Dozier Rd near Woodhaven Trail, when for unsubstantiated reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway early Sunday.
Wright was uninjured in the crash.
Mara was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.
Wright was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to an area jail.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
