COLLIER COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Shemayah Duncan of Lake Mary, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle in Collier County early Wednesday morning.
Duncan, 34, was killed in a crash while traveling on Interstate 75 near Naples Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Duncan was operating a Toyota Camry on I-75 near Golden Gate Parkway, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then overcorrected causing it to rollover.
Duncan was ejected from the vehicle, according to a crash report.
Duncan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the crash.
Duncan was the sole occupant for the vehicle.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
