WEST NYACK, NY. (THECOUNT) — A Tuesday early morning blaze took the life of a West Nyack, New York woman.
The fire, which occurred Tuesday in the early morning hours, claimed the life of a 63-year-old woman in West Nyack.
According to the Clarkstown Police Department, firefighters responded to a structure fire at 9 Wheeler Place around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. As first responders arrived, the single-family home displayed heavy smoke and fire emitting from the rear of the house which hampered firefighting efforts.
A woman was later discovered found deceased inside the home.
West Nyack firefighters made entry into the home where they found the woman and extinguished the fire, reports DailyVoice.
The victim’s identification will be released upon notification of next of kin.
The fire is being investigated by the Clarkstown Detective Bureau.
