VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Donald James Long, of Eustace, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Van Zandt County Saturday morning.
Long, 29, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Canton, Texas Saturday.
According to reports, Long was operating a Hyundai Sonata on SH-198 north of Canton, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 6:15 a.m. Saturday.
The vehicle then entered a culvert sending it into a driveway. The vehicle then went airborne before making contact with a fencepost and a tree.
Long was pronounced Long at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
