HARLAN TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Elio Abiakel, of Mason, Ohio, has been identified as the pilot in a fatal small plane crash in Harlan Township Wednesday night.
Abiakel, 42, was killed while piloting a small aircraft in Warren County Wednesday night.
According to officials, Abiakel was the sole occupant of a Piper Cherokee Arrow when it went down in rural Harlan Township around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The plane crashed crashed into a wooded area off of Morrow-Rossburg Road near State Route 132, according to DelmarvaNow.
Officials said the aircraft was traveling from Oklahoma to an airport in Clermont County when it crashed.
Abiakel was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
