AMES, IA. (THECOUNT) — Jonathan Daniel Pickhinke, of Nemaha, Iowa, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday afternoon motorcycle crash in Ames, Iowa.
“Jon” Pickhinke, 20 was killed after crashing his motorcycle in Ames Wednesday around 3:30 p.m.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Pickhinke was operating a motorcycle traveling on North Dakota Avenue Wednesday afternoon, when for unknown reasons, he crossed centerlines and exited the roadway and into opposing lanes.
The motorcycle then made contact with an SUV driven by Darren Moon of Ames.
Pickhinke was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Moon was uninjured in the crash.
The crash is remains under investigation.
