EAST HARDWICK, VT. (THECOUNT) — Creed and Linda Scharrenberg, a couple of nearly 50 years, had just enjoyed a beverage on their East Hardwick, Vermont deck, when a piece of ice fell off the roof and fatally struck 73-year-old Linda.
Creed, 79, had just told his wife that he didn’t know how he could “live without her,” when the piece of ice fall on her, striking her on the back of the head, causing her to fall face first into the snowy deck, according to the couple’s daughter, Jodine Meyers.
The paramedics were called to the 500 block of Mountain View Rd and attempted to revive Linda but were unsuccessful.
