BELMONT, MS. (THECOUNT) — Jerry White, of Dennis, Mississippi, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Belmont Thursday night.
“Doublewide” White, 26, was killed Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash on New Bethel Road in Belmont.
According to Friday morning reports, White was operating a vehicle on New Bethel Road sometime before 9 p.m. Thursday, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with a tree near the Belmont Cemetery.
White was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.
A passenger in the car was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
An off-duty deputy sheriff who lives nearby found the wreckage at 9 p.m., reports WTVA.
According to Facebook, White worked as a welder at Sunair Products Inc and was a supervisor at Sunshine Mills.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
