ELIZABETH CITY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Luiz Felipe Leal Sr has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash in Elizabeth City, North Carolina Tuesday night.
Leal, 39, was killed in a motorcycle-versus-Jeep crash Tuesday night in Elizabeth City.
According to police, Leal was operating a 2007 Triumph motorcycle Tuesday around 6:20 p.m., when he was involved in a crash with a 2006 Jeep Wrangler.
Leal was traveling on Halsted Boulevard, when the Jeep Wrangler turned left in front of him near Walker Ave.
Witnesses said the motorcycle didn’t have any visible headlights.
Police investigation showed the headlights were covered in aluminum-colored duct tape, reports WAVY.
After the crash, Leal was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Elizabeth City Police Department is still investigating to find any other factors that might have contributed to the crash.
