The cruse giant stressed that the crew member’s death is unrelated to the mysterious virus that originated in China.

“We can confirm that local authorities were immediately notified after a crewmember who did not report for work was found deceased. We cooperate fully with law enforcement in their investigation and have been advised the death was non-suspicious,” Royal Caribbean said in a statement, according to TheEpochtimes.

The Royal Caribbean spokesperson told the publication on Sunday that the crew member’s death and the coronavirus “are unrelated.”

Meanwhile, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy confirmed on Saturday that passengers on the ship tested negative for the coronavirus after at least 12 Chinese nationals were placed under quarantine due to concern over possible coronavirus.

The vessel was docked in Cape Liberty Cruise Port, in Bayonne, New Jersey Friday around 6 a.m., according to reports.

The quarantined passengers were tested by officials from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), who were on hand to greet the arriving ship, reports 6abc.

The passengers, all Chinese nationals, started exhibiting symptoms aboard the ship, which was returning from a tour of the Bahamas.
