MARTELL, NE. (THECOUNT) — Jamie Bauman has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday head-on vehicle crash in Martell, Nebraska.

Bauman, 39, was killed in a rollover crash on Highway 77 in Martell on Wednesday.

According to officials, the fatal crash occurred on Highway 77 around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, after for unknown reasons, the pickup truck Bauman was operating, crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The vehicle then came into contact with an SUV driven by 25-year-old Cassidy Clement.

Bauman was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt for trauma injuries.

Clement, of Lincoln, was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Both Bauman and Clement were the only occupants of their respective vehicles, reports klkn.

Preliminary evidence indicates that Clement was wearing a seatbelt, however, Bauman was not.

Road conditions at the time of the collision were snow covered and icy.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
