NATCHITOCHES, LA. (THECOUNT) — Hiram Phillips Jr., and Larry Batiste, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal shooting in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on Monday night. A female victim was transported from the scene with unknown gunshot injuries.

Phillips, 35, and Batiste, 41, were both shot dead in a Monday night double homicide in Natchitoches.

According to Natchitoches Police Department officials, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 900 block of Short Street, near East Natchitoches Elementary. When officials arrived, they discovered three people suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.

Batiste and Phillips were pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.

A female was rushed to the hospital where she’s being treated, reports KTBS.

No suspect information was provided by officials as of Tuesday morning.
