BIRMINGHAM, AL. (THECOUNT) — Former Mississippi State wide receiver, De’Runnya Wilson, has been identified as the victim in an apparent homicide in Birmingham, Alabama.
According to Birmingham Police, 25-year-old Wilson was killed in a homicide, according to Tuesday evening reports.
After a family member discovered Wilson unresponsive in his home, reports SaturdayDownSouth.
Police are investigating the death as a homicide – But did not elaborate.
Wilson played at Mississippi State from 2013 to 2015, recording 132 catches for 1,936 yards and 22 touchdowns. He then went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, eventually playing for the Albany Empire in the Arena Football League.
Wilson also played in 7 games for the Mississippi State basketball team as a freshman.
A cause of death was not provided.
