NEW YORK, NY. (THECOUNT) — Ever since Alex Trebek revealed his pending retirement from his Jeopardy hosting duties, people have been wondering how might fill his very big shoes.

“Most of us have open-ended lives, we don’t know when we’re going to die. Because of the cancer diagnosis, it’s no longer an open-ended life, it’s a closed-end life because of the terrible statistics, survival rates for pancreatic cancer,” Trebek said during a recent interview.

On January 8th, 2020, Trebek expanded on his timeline a bit, telling reporters for the Television Critics Association that he doesn’t see himself retiring anytime soon. But, in addition to that, he did suggest someone as his replacement and it caught fans off guard, reports CountryMusicNation.

“It’s probably going to be a woman, somebody younger, somebody bright, somebody personable, somebody with a great sense of humor, so I nominated Betty White,” Trebek said.

With Betty White celebrating her 98th birthday on January 17th, 2020, she seems like a longshot to replace the over 3 decade host of the popular quiz show, but who knows? If anyone one could pull it off..
