PHILADELPHIA, PA. (THECOUNT) — Drexel College of Medicine student Vivek Subramani has been identified as the victim in a fatal building fall in North Philadelphia on Saturday, according to police.

Subramani, 23, was reportedly jumping between rooftops in the 1200 block of Buttonwood Street, when he missed a landing and fell two stories to his death.

The fatal incident occurred just before 2 a.m. after, according to witnesses, Subramani was jumping between the rooftops with a friend at their apartment building when Subramani did not make the jump, falling two stories down and striking his head.

Drexel University President John Fry issued a statement, saying, in part:

“On behalf of the entire Drexel community, I want to extend my deepest sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Vivek. There are no words to express the sense of loss when any young life is cut so short, and especially for someone with so much promise,” reports FOX29.
