ROCKFORD, IL. (THECOUNT) — Tanielle Brown, of Flint, Michigan, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash involving a FedEx semi-trailer on Interstate 90 near Rockford, Michigan Saturday.

Brown, 30, was killed and a 4-year-old injured after the vehicle she was driving was involved in a crash overnight in Rockford.

Illinois State Police say, Brown was seated along with a juvenile inside a vehicle that had apparently ran out of gas on I-90 near Rockford around 1:20 a.m.

At some point, a FedEx International semi-truck struck the disabled vehicle that was parked on the side of the road.

The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.

A 4-year-old child inside Brown’s car was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Brown was pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the violent collision.

Reports say, a citation was issued at the scene for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

ISP says drugs and alcohol are not being considered as contributing factors in the crash, reports WREX.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
