EL PASO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Celso Manuel Garcia has been identified as the victim in a fatal El Paso motorcycle crash Thursday night involving a drunk driver. The driver has been identified as Ivan Romo.

Garcia, 38, was operating a motorcycle in El Paso when he was fatally struck by Romo’s pickup truck.

According to officials, Garcia was traveling on a Yamaha motorcycle on Yandell when he was struck by a Dodge Ram driven by Romo, 27, Thursday night near Raynor.

Police said Romo ran a red light Thursday night before striking Garcia – just a block from police headquarters.

After hitting the motorcycle, the Ram crashed into two parked cars on the street, reports KTSM.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Romo was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated manslaughter and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $100,000 bond.

Romo appears to be active military judging from the apparel in his mugshot.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
