BISMARCK, ND. (THECOUNT) — Amelia Johnson, 58, of Alexander, N.D., was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on U.S. Highway 85 Thursday, when for unknown reasons, she swerved into the eastbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck head-on. She died in the crash.
The driver of the truck, 27-year-old Timothy Wolfe, was taken by ambulance to a Williston hospital with serious injuries. Both drivers were restrained by a seatbelt and airbags did deploy, according to the patrol, reports InForum.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
