PITTSBURGH, PA. (THECOUNT) — EMS supervisor Matthew Smeltzer has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash on Interstate 70 Sunday morning, according to reports.

Smeltzer was killed while assisting a crash victim on I-70 Sunday.

According to state police, Rostraver EMS was on the scene of a crash when the ambulance was struck by another vehicle.

Smeltzer was pronounced dead at the scene.

All lanes of I-70 in Smithton were closed following the multi-vehicle crash, reports

The crash happened Sunday morning between Exit 49 Smithton and Exit 46A-PA 51 South.

Emergency crews are investigating the accident.
