FLORENCE, SC. (THECOUNT) — The Florence County Coroner’s Office has confirmed a Florence Regional Airport officer as the fatality in a Sunday morning shooting incident at the airport.
The unidentified officer was fatally shot in an officer-involved shooting at the Florence Airport, in South Carolina, Sunday morning, according to the Florence County coroner.
A large police presence was spotted on the scene near the Florence Regional Airport Sunday morning, according to Tommy Crosby, with SLED.
Every entrance and exit to the airport was blocked, reports WPDE.
The SLED is working with local law enforcement and is investigating the incident.
