BRENTWOOD, NY. (THECOUNT) — Arrs Gonzalez Nelson, of Brentwood, NY, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck in Suffolk County Saturday night.
Nelson, 55, was struck and killed by a Jeep Saturday night, operated by 32-year-old Delmi Rodriguez, as he walked on a Brentwood road, Suffolk police said.
According to police, Nelson was on-foot in the area of Crooked Hill Road near McNair Street around 9:30 p.m., when a northbound 2006 Jeep hit him, according to police.
Gonzalez was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Police impounded Rodriguez’s vehicle for a safety check, reports Newsday.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
