COLLIER COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Edwin Jimenez, 27, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash New Year’s Eve in Immokalee. Another man died in the crash. His name has not yet been released.

Three others were injured in the single-vehicle crash that occurred in Collier County on New Year’s Eve.

According to reports, the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on County Line Road near Immokalee after a Lincoln SUV failed to observe a stop sign and exited the roadway. The vehicle then entered a culvert.

Edwin Jimenez, of Immokalee, was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Another male passenger was transported to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The other three people in the SUV all sustained serious injuries and were taken to local hospitals. They include the driver, 22-year-old Danielle Lopez, as well as 37-year-old Sebastian Jimenez and 41-year-old Romeo Lopez, reports Fox4Now.

Troopers say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and all were wearing seat belts at the time.

The driver is being charged with Driving with No License Causing Death, and Disregarding Stop Sign.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
