FAYETTE, MO. (THECOUNT) — John L. Turner, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, has been identified as the victim found fatally shot inside a vehicle in Fayette on Monday.

“Liljohn” Turner, 29, was discovered shot to death inside a vehicle during a welfare check by officials on Monday afternoon.

According to the police, officers responded to the 200 block of South Linn Street in Fayette at about 1:30 Monday afternoon to perform a welfare check on Turner. Police had been advised that an unknown man was seen running from the vehicle.

Officials then found Turner inside the car dead from at least one gunshot wound.

Investigators are looking for the individual seen running from the vehicle, described as a black male, 5’6″ tall, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, reports KRCG.
