WILMINGTON, NC. (THECOUNT) — William Springer has been identified as the victim found fatally shot in Wilmington, North Carolina on Sunday.
Springer, 35, was shot and killed on the 1100 block of Castle Street, in Wilmington, just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

According to a press release, Wilmington police arrived to the scene on a call of shots fired. When they arrived, Springer was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Springer was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
In 2003, Springer was charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury after being accused of shooting a man in the leg, reports StarNewsOnline.
Police are still looking for suspects, and encourage anyone who might have information on the case to contact WPD at (910)-343-3609 or submit anonymous tips through tip708.com.
