COLLEGE STATION, TX. (THECOUNT) — Radio icon Don Imus — a New York institution for decades at WNBC and WFAN — is dead at 79, according to the NYDailyNews.
The veteran shock jock had reportedly been hospitalized since Christmas Eve. He died at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in College Station, Texas on Friday the report said.

A family rep is said to have confirmed the broadcaster’s death, though the cause of Imus’ passing has not been reported.
Imus had been on radio for 50 years before stepping away from the mic in 2018. He was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1989.
He leaves behind a wife and two sons.
