KFI AM 690 Reporter ‘Goes Off’ On Pete Buttigieg While Covering Invite Only CA Campaign Stop ‘Hope You Never Get Elected!’

BURBANK, CA. (THECOUNT) — Longtime KFI radio news correspondent Steve Gregory was still fuming fresh off covering a mayor Pete Buttigieg private invite-only campaign stop in Walnut, CA on Friday.

Gregory said while appearing on KFI 690John and Ken” show Friday –
He was duped by campaign staffers who kept him waiting at a post event meet and greet, while he claims Buttigieg was being snuck out a back door.

During the segment, the usually reserved Gregory could not contain his residual rage complaining he was hung out to dry for a period of time after being informed by staffers the candidate “would be available” for follow up questions. Questions Gregory says he never got to ask.

John and Ken, who seemed blindsided by the onslaught recounting of events, could only be heard giggling in the background as Gregory’s dubbed the Buttigieg exit-stage-left move “chicken shit.”

Gregory regularly appears on the popular afternoon radio show but this time around took an entire segment retelling the gruesome details of his encounter – or lack thereof – with the longshot candidate, at one point cornering the mayor of Walnut to express his disappointment.

“If this is the way Buttigieg runs his campaign, let’s hope he never becomes president,” Gregory recounted saying.

The award winning man-on-the-street reporter was appearing on the daily show to report his new finding in the case of the California groom who was recently killed by a pair of wedding crashers.

In the second segment of the broadcast, Gregory got to matters at hand, telling John and Ken, he had finally “calmed down.”

Gregory is a six-time recipient of the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award. The Associated Press has given him first place accolades for Best Newscast, Best Special Program, and Best Series. Steve has also won international media awards for features on the Phoenix Fire Department, the U.S. Border Patrol, and Arab-American comedians. He’s also won National Headliner and Communicator Awards. He is a first-place winner of more than 25 Golden Mike Awards for his coverage of breaking news, features, and investigative series. He has also won awards for his live coverage of dramatic and violent car chases and crashes, kinda like this one.
