CLEARFIELD, UT. (THECOUNT) — Calista Taylor, of Clearfield, Utah, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle near a Interstate 15 freeway off-ramp, authorities said.

Taylor, 20, was killed while on-foot by a pickup truck in the area of 700 South and I-15 Thursday night, according to Friday reports.

Clearfield Police Assistant Chief Devin Rogers said the crash happened at 6:41 Thursday evening.

“When officers and medical personnel arrived on scene they found a 20-year-old female pedestrian in critical condition,” according to a statement from the Clearfield Police Department, reports KSL.

Taylor was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver, who was not identified by officials, remained on scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.

No one was cited at the scene.

Charges are not expected to be filed.

“There are pedestrian crossings at this intersection and officers are working to identify if the collision occurred within a crossing,” according to the CPD statement.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Clearfield police at 801-525-2806.

The case remains under investigation.
