MT Man Ricky Lee Gardipee ID’d As Suspect Shot Dead Following Emerald City Casino Triple-Murder

GREAT FALLS, MT. (THECOUNT) — Ricky Lee Gardipee has been identified as the man fatally shot by Montana authorities following a triple-murder at the Emerald City Casino Tuesday morning in Great Falls.

Gardipee, 41, was fatally shot by deputy U.S. marshals early Tuesday in the city of Great Falls, about a mile away from the Emerald City Casino where three people were killed and a fourth was injured, Petroleum County Coroner R.J. Brown said in a statement.

The Cascade County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims killed as 53-year-old Cheryl Ann Larsen, 60-year-old Wendy Joanne Carlson and 61-year-old Steve Mitchell Hale, DarienTimes.

Great Falls Police, the U.S. Marshals Office and the FBI, are investigation after a multiple-victim homicide at Emerald City Casino Tuesday morning in Great Falls.

A motive in the crime has not been provided by officials.

Officials responded to a 911 call requesting assistance to the Emerald City Casino located on 10th Avenue South in Great Falls, MT. When first responders arrived, they discovered three victims deceased inside the casino.

A fourth victim was located a short time later, and the release says that person is currently recovering from unknown injuries at Benefis Health System, reports GreatFallsTribune.

Investigators began a search for the suspect, who was fatally shot by police at approximately 5:45 a.m. in the area of 26th Street and 7th Avenue South.
