UTICA, NY. (THECOUNT) — Dinasia Murray has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday, according to police.
Update: TheCount.com erroneously reported that the victim was a Utica College student. An email from family members informed us she was not a student. We are sorry for any confusion the incorrect information may have caused.
Police say they were called to Lansing Street and Mohawk Street on calls of a pedestrian down. When they arrived, 20-year-old Murray was found suffering from injuries from an apparent vehicle strike.
The deadly incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Murray was pronounced dead shortly afterward, officers said.
A Utica police spokesperson did not provide any details about the crash but said a “full review” will take place before any charges are filed, reports Syracuse.
