CHARLOTTE, NC. (THECOUNT) — Scott Brooks, co-owner of iconic Brooks Sandwich House, was shot dead Monday morning by an unknown assailant, according to Monday reports.
Brooks and his twin brother David opened the eatery in 1973. The family-owned restaurant has been a staple in the Charlotte community for decades.
Scott was opening the popular sandwich shop for business when he was shot and killed Monday morning for unknown reasons.
He was located suffering from at least one gunshot wound outside the business.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say he was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.
“It appears an employee of the business was just beginning his day and was confronted by some unknown assailant,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Maj. David Robinson said.
The restaurant is located at, 2710 N Brevard St in Charlotte, NC.
Police haven’t announced any arrests and no suspect information was provided.
