BOWLING GREEN, KY. (THECOUNT) — Maria Domingo Perez has been identified as the Kentucky woman arrested after being accused of selling a baby for $2,000, according to officials.
Perez, whose age was not provided, was arrested by Bowling Green police for allegedly selling her own infant.
Investigators say, Perez provided conflicting stories, but she eventually admitted that she agreed to give her baby to another couple in exchange for the cash.
Perez’s four other children were removed from her custody following her arrest.
The mother is charged with felony selling and purchasing a child for adoption, reports WNYT.
