HUNTSVILLE, AL. (THECOUNT) — Timothy Lee Redmond has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Huntsville, Alabama Saturday morning, according to reports.
Redmond, 49, was on-foot when he was hit and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning near the Marathon gas station and the bus stop between Henderson Road and Boxwood Drive around 12:30 a.m.
Police say, Redmond was wearing dark clothing while attempting to walk across University Drive northbound when he was struck.
Police stated Redmond was hit by a Lexus ES330 in the middle lane and was laying in the right lane when a Chevy Tahoe hit him.
Redmond was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Police said two people have been detained and questioned. It is unclear if anyone was cited at the scene.
The road was temporarily closed in that area, but it has since been reopened, reports WHNT.
