CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH. (THECOUNT) — Tyler Williams of Akron, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a multi-vehicle crash involving a big rig in Cuyahoga Falls Wednesday night, according to reports.
Williams, 22, was killed and several others seriously injured, following a major crash that shuttered Route 8 in Cuyahoga Falls Wednesday around 11:30 p.m., say officials.
Officials say they responded to Route 8 near 2nd Street on reports of a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer. When they arrived they found several victims suffering from injuries.
The driver of one involved vehicle, Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of a second car was trapped and had to be extricated by the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department, reports WKYC.
Those victims were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. There is no word on their condition at this time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
