CHICAGO, IL. (THECOUNT) — A female, said to be 18 or 19, was found fatally shot inside a vehicle parked on-campus at the University of Illinois at Chicago, according to reports.

The woman, who was not immediately identified, was discovered suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside a vehicle around 11 a.m. Saturday.

The vehicle was parked in the 700 block of West Taylor Street, fire officials said.

The young woman was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries at the scene.

The deadly incident occurred in a parking garage in University Village on the Near West Side.

Police have set up a crime scene around the vehicle, officials said, though they could not yet confirm if detectives suspected foul play, reports ABCCHICAGO.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not provided details on her death.

Chicago police did not immediately release further information.
