VALE, SD. (THECOUNT) — Missing angler, Glen Shay, of Vale, SD, has been identified as the body recovered from the Belle Fourche River on Tuesday, according to reports.
Shay, 67, had been reported missing on Monday while fishing in western South Dakota.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office says Shay was last seen Monday afternoon walking with two fishing poles and a folding camp stool to a fishing hole north of Vale, reports KELOLAND.
A search began when Shay did not return from fishing.
According to officials, Shay likely slipped on the river bank and drowned. the sheriff reportedly says the river banks are unstable because of high water.
