SMITHVILLE, VA. (THECOUNT) — Desmond Smith has been identified as the victim shot dead at a Smithville, Virginia, 7-Eleven Wednesday night, according to reports.
Smith, 21, was found suffering from multiple gunshot injuries at a 7-Eleven store in Smithfield on Wednesday around 10 p.m.
Police say the fatal shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
Officers responded to calls of shots fired at 603 W. Main Street, after 10 p.m. Wednesday , Deputy Chief Matthew Rogers said in a press release.
Police officers found Desmond Smith shot several times, reports 13NewsNow.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.
Anyone with possible information on the deadly incident should contact police at 911.
